Dylan is one of the most successful marathon runners in Canada. He was a member of the 2012 Canadian Olympic Team, finishing 20th in his Olympic debut at the London 2012 Games. He qualified for the Games by running 2:10:47 at the 2012 Rotterdam Marathon. That time currently stands as the third fastest ever by a Canadian, behind only Jerome Drayton’s clocking of 2:10:09 in 1975 and Reid Coolsaet’s 2:10:28 clocking at the 2015 Berlin Marathon.
Dylan’s coaching philosophy has been shaped by his many years in the sport and the lessons he has learned through its ups and downs. He recognizes the importance of consistency and attention to detail and utilizes those factors to inform his coaching. He brings the same passion and drive to helping other athletes achieve their goals that he has to his own running.
Dylan lives and trains in Vancouver, BC with his wife and two young daughters by his side. He understands the struggles and challenges that day-to-day life can throw at you, while trying to train for a big race. He is also a scientist, holding a MSc in epidemiology from Queen’s University.

Head Coach – Vancouver
Rob has been a stalwart on the Canadian running scene for many years. This London Ontario native cut his teeth in the 3000m Steeplechase where he was 2x Canadian Champion and represented Canada in the event at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, Germany.
Rob ran his first Marathon in 2011 when he ran 2:16 for a 4th place finish at the Houston Marathon. He has run sub 2:20 10 times, including a 2:15 for 11th place at the 2013 Boston Marathon and a 20th place finish at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow Russia. Rob recently made a return to competitive racing by winning the 2018 BMO Vancouver Marathon.
Rob Holds a Marathon PB of 2:13, and has represented Canada 9 times in international competition.
Rob has been actively coaching with Mile2Marathon for over 4yrs, and has helped guide his athletes to many PB’s and BQ’s along the way. His enthusiasm and passion for the sport is contagious, and there are few things he loves more than throwing down on the track with his athletes.

Kate Gustafson is a writer, runner, and coach—with her truest passions being travel and supporting women & girls in sport.
As a former Women’s NCAA Division I Ice Hockey player (named captain in her senior season), Kate loves sweaty pursuits. She has completed the Everest Base Camp Trek in Nepal, spent six weeks training at high altitude in Kenya, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, raced twelve marathons and is a proud Guinness world record holder for distance run on a treadmill by twelve women over twelve hours.
When her hockey-playing days came to an end she revisited her passion for running. Eleven years later, she has completed 75+ races and trained with many inspiring coaches and teammates along the way—with all of this hard work culminating in a top 25 finish at the 2016 Boston Marathon, a 26th place finish at the 2017 Berlin Marathon, and most recently a 19th place finish at the 2018 Chicago Marathon.
Her personal best times include 2:40:06 in the marathon and 1:18:14 in the half marathon, both achieved in 2018 while training under fellow coach, Dylan Wykes.
In 2013, Kate founded an online coaching business and has since supported over 65 athletes across Canada in their various running pursuits. In 2014, she launched Girls With Gusto, a pilot running program for girls in Regent Park, one of Toronto’s most diverse neighbourhoods. And in 2015, she co-founded Run To Give YVR to bring Vancouver’s running community together to help the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre. She has also led several cross training clinics for professional sports teams in Toronto, Ottawa, and Vancouver.
Kate believes that perseverance, grit, and a profound love for sport are essential. She strives to pass this along to young girls through mentorship, endurance athletes through coaching, and fellow teammates through her own training.
After graduating from Union College in upstate New York, Kate began her professional career in advertising in Atlanta and Toronto before spending the next few years in non-profit leading a team. In 2012, she made the jump to professional sports at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. In early 2015, Kate moved to Vancouver to write for lululemon. Kate also writes a blog; a project that started during a year spent travelling around the world.
Kate now lives in NYC and works with athletes remotely across Canada and the USA.
Kim is a huge inspiration to all runners, particularly those who come to our great sport from different sporting backgrounds. A competitive swimmer, turned national class soccer player, turned marathon runner – and a speedy one at that. Kim is the 2014 BMO Vancouver marathon champion! She has a personal best of 2:36:03 from the 2014 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. She’s also tested her limits on the ultra scene, having represented Canada at the 2015 World 50k road race championships.
Besides making her legs go fast, she holds a BSc in Kinesiology, certificates in applied sports nutrition and health & fitness, and has a huge passion for cooking. Her cooking expertise are showcased as a regular contributor to Canada Running Magazine with her ‘Feed the Run’ column/blog.
In Kim’s own words “When it all falls into place, I feel like I’m flying. After a hard workout, when I’m gasping for that next, life-saving breath, it puts a smile on my face. I feel a sense of accomplishment knowing that I’ve tested my own limits.
But most importantly, I love inspiring people and showing what can be accomplished on just two feet.”

Born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, Tony turned running around in the Alaskan wilderness into a lifetime of running adventures. He has turned the sport into a life style, one that he is eager to share with all. Whether it’s being lost in the mountains for a few hours or pushing through a grueling workout, he knows that every running adventure provides a great story.
As a coach, he believes that every time we lace up a pair of shoes and head out the door we create an experience, and it’s those lessons that athletes can draw upon in preparation for the next race. Having put on the running shoes more times than he can count, Tony uses his knowledge to provide athletes with information and guidance as they train for the next challenge.
Having made many lasting friendships through running, Tony is always focused on the social aspect of the sport and reminds his athletes to stay in touch with the elements that they enjoy most about the runner’s lifestyle.
With these philosophies, he was a successful collegiate student athlete at Western Washington University, and later an assistant cross country and track coach at the University of Alaska Anchorage, he reached the highest levels in both the athletic and coaching ranks at the NCAA DII level.
After 5 years of coaching at UAA, Tony moved to Vancouver in 2016 and quickly connected with the running community; taking part in local races, coaching clinics, and enjoying a social pub runs. Today, he can be found exploring the North Shore trails, cruising through Pacific Spirit Park or pounding the pavement around the seawall.

Kevin Coffey, the best kept secret in Canadian Marathoning” Kevin didn’t come into the marathon world the way most athletes do. Kevin ran as all kids do in elementary school, but it didn’t continue much past that. Kevin concentrated on hockey, tennis and rowing.
He was in his early 20s before knowing a great deal about the road running scene. He struggled to qualify for the race all of us dream about–Boston. After many attempts and misses, Kevin was close to throwing in the towel. Luckily, he learned that the road to success comes with hard work and many roadblocks along the way.
During his post-secondary education in Fitness and Health Promotion his love of running continued, while his love of helping others succeed, began. While in Kingston, he coached a number of athletes online and developed and led a weekly track workout for runners of all abilities. He knows what is involved in choosing the right goals and putting in the right plan in place to achieve these goals.
Kevin has worked with the same coach, mostly through online coaching, since the beginning. He knows the importance of a solid coach / athlete relationship. He ran his first marathon in 3:47. He and his coach have succeeded in shaving more than 85 minutes to reach a marathon PB of 2:21:40!
There are three fundamentals involved in achieving your goals: the want to do it, the ability to do it, and having someone coach you through it. Kevin is pleased to help you select a goal and develop the training plans to take you there.

A former standout in the Canadian Junior running ranks, Mike still holds two Canadian under-20 records (1mile &3km) and held a top 50 world ranking in the 1500m at just 19 years of age. However, after a series of injuries to his left navicular bone, Mike was forced out of competition, but not out of the sport.
Through his passion for running, and his numerous set-backs, Mike brings a unique perspective to his coaching. Having ran under, and worked with, some of the best coaches and athletes in North America, he combines his own anecdotal experiences with some of the most advanced and latest training methods.
Over the past few years Mike has made an amazing transition from middle-distance runner to one of Canada’s best road cyclists. In 2016 he made the jump to the highest echelon of cycling, competing for Pro Tour team Cannondale-Drapac Pro Cycling Team.
He also fulfilled a life long dream of representing Canada at the Olympic Games when he competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics in the men’s road race. Expect much more from Mike on his two wheeled machine over the next few years.
