I joined the competitive running scene later in life than most. I always ran, however, it was after having my second daughter that I started to take running more seriously and set myself some goals. I quickly fell in love with running fast and pushing myself to achieve faster times. Committing to consistent training and following a workout plan, I achieved results I had previously not even dreamed of. I am now in my late 40s, a mom to two teenage girls, and I continue to compete at a high level while balancing the needs of my family and work.

I believe the athlete and coach are a team working towards a common goal. Keeping communication open and honest is important. Life can be busy and demanding however, a personalized plan can lead to fulfillment. I believe in enjoying the process of training as much as achieving the goal. Celebrating the small steps along the way is just as important as celebrating the big goals.
Favourite race distance and why?
I love the marathon. Each time I train for one I learn something new about myself. The marathon isn’t a given and each time you line up on the start there are so many variables going into the race. I love the challenge of pushing myself over this distance.
Most memorable coaching moment?
I had the privilege of watching one of my athletes race and break their 10k goal. The look of joy when they realized they had achieved their goal was priceless and incredibly rewarding to me as a coach.
