About Trevor

Trevor has been running since a young age, competing in cross country from the early years of elementary school. It wasn’t until after high school that he took the sport more seriously and started to put in the work to get the results. For Trevor, running compliments his life by reducing stress, adding enjoyment through exploration, and gives him a strong sense of community. Through his years of training, he mostly coached himself, including the training block leading up to the 2019 Canadian Olympic trials and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

My Coaching Philosophy

There are many components that make a successful training block on race day. As a coach, I like to focus on consistency, work ethic, awareness, & developing a strong inner self confidence that shines.

Interview

  • Favourite race type and why?

Easy, the Marathon. I love the grind of training hard and pushing my body to its absolute limits. Though I love the Half Marathon and the 10K, there’s something special about the Marathon that keeps me coming back for more.

  • Favourite post-workout treat or go-to place?

Load me up with some baked goods.

  • Favourite running podcast, website, book, videos, or blog?

Book: Marathon Man by Bill Rodgers
    Movie: Forrest Gump
Instagram: Kevin Coffey’s IG profile. Give that man a follow.

  • Most memorable coaching moment?

It’s hard to pinpoint one moment as the most memorable because each accomplishment is significant to the individual. What I enjoy most about coaching is supporting others in accomplishing their goals. I am one to get fired up over others’ success more than my own.
